How to use it

About this tool
Raising volume digitally multiplies every sample in the file. If the result would exceed the maximum level, it clips — a harsh distortion. The optional limiter watches for those peaks and trims only them, so you get maximum loudness with clean sound.
Note that boosting also amplifies hiss and room noise by the same amount. For noisy recordings, run the Noise Remover first, then boost.
Frequently asked questions
Will boosting damage quality? With the limiter on, boosted audio stays clean. Boosting cannot add detail that was not recorded, but it makes quiet audio perfectly listenable.
How much should I boost? If you can barely hear speech, try 250–300%. For music that is just a bit quiet, 150% is usually plenty.
