Free Vocal Remover — Make Karaoke Tracks Online
Turn any song into a karaoke track right in your browser. Upload a stereo MP3 or WAV, dial in the vocal-removal strength, preview the result, and download it as a WAV. This works by center-channel cancellation — it reduces sounds panned to the center of the mix, which is usually the lead vocal. Be honest with yourself: it works best on stereo tracks and results vary by mix — songs with heavy stereo effects or off-center vocals won’t clean up as well. Everything runs locally; your files never leave your browser.

How it works
- Upload a stereo song — MP3, WAV, or OGG. The tool decodes it right in your browser.
- Center-channel cancellation — most lead vocals are mixed dead-center, identical in both channels. The tool subtracts the shared center content from each channel, which reduces the vocal while leaving the rest of the mix mostly intact.
- Tune the strength — 0% is the original song, 100% is maximum removal. Around 70% is the sweet spot for most tracks.
- Preview and download — listen first, then grab the result as a WAV file you can play anywhere.
Your files never leave your browser — no uploads, no accounts, no waiting on a server.
Everyday uses
- Karaoke nights — strip vocals from your favorite songs for sing-alongs at home or parties.
- Cover artists — make backing tracks to sing or play over for YouTube covers and auditions.
- DJs & remixers — isolate instrumental beds as a starting point for mashups (check the song’s license first).
- Vocal practice — hear the instrumental arrangement clearly to learn harmonies and timing.
- Presentations & videos — get an instrumental version of a track for background music.
Keep in mind: this is a classic signal-processing trick, not AI stem separation. It reduces centered vocals — it can’t perfectly isolate them, and results vary a lot from song to song. Heavily processed or off-center vocals will still peek through.
