Audio Normalizer — Normalize Loudness to Podcast & Streaming Levels

October 12, 2026 · 2 min read · By the DollarWise team

Every platform expects a different loudness. This normalizer measures your audio and adjusts it to a target loudness using the professional EBU R128 (loudnorm) method — the same standard Spotify, YouTube and podcast apps use.

    How to use it

    1. Add your audio — an episode, song or voice clip.
    2. Choose the target — podcast (−16 LUFS) suits most creators; streaming uses −14.
    3. Process & download — loudness matched, peaks protected.

    About this tool

Normalization is not just ‘make it louder’. The loudnorm algorithm analyzes the perceived loudness of the whole file (not just peaks) and applies the exact gain needed to hit the target, while a true-peak limiter prevents distortion. A series of episodes normalized to the same target all sound equally loud — no more volume surprises for listeners.

If your audio is very uneven (loud intro, quiet speech), run the Audio Compressor first, then normalize.

    Frequently asked questions

Normalizer vs volume booster — what is the difference? A booster applies a fixed amount of gain. A normalizer measures the file and applies exactly the gain needed to reach a standard loudness target.

Which target should I pick? Podcasts: −16 LUFS. YouTube/streaming: −14 LUFS. TV broadcast: −23 LUFS.
