Free Online Notepad — Auto-Save, No Sign-Up
Sometimes you just need a blank page that will not lose your words. This notepad auto-saves everything you type into your browser’s local storage — no account, no cloud sync, no server ever sees your text. Reopen the page on the same browser and your note is exactly where you left it. Word and character counts update live, and you can copy everything or download a .txt whenever you need the text elsewhere.
Online Notepad
A distraction-free notepad that saves itself — in your browser only. Close the tab, come back tomorrow, your note is still here.

How it works
Every keystroke schedules a save (debounced by a fraction of a second) to localStorage under a DollarWise notepad key. Because the storage lives in your browser profile, the note survives tab closes and browser restarts on this device, but is never transmitted anywhere. Clearing the pad removes the stored copy too.
Everyday uses
- Quick capture — phone numbers, ideas, and to-dos you would otherwise lose.
- Drafting — emails, posts, and messages you want to polish before pasting them in.
- Meetings — fast notes without opening a heavy app or signing in.
- Study — a scratch page for formulas and summaries next to your course tab.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my note stored?
Only in this browser’s local storage on this device. It is never uploaded, and clearing your browser data will erase it — download a .txt for anything precious.
Can I use it on another device?
No sync by design — that is the privacy trade-off. Use Download .txt to move a note between devices manually.
Is there a length limit?
Browsers typically allow several megabytes of local storage — far more than any note. Extremely long documents belong in a full editor.
