YouTube Script Prompt 🎬

Describe your video topic once — get a complete, ready-to-record 8–10 minute script with a strong hook, timestamped sections, mid-video engagement cues, and an outro, plus the full publishing package: title, five thumbnail ideas, description, and tags. This is the prompt format that turns a one-line topic into a publishable YouTube video.

The prompt

Write a complete, ready-to-record YouTube script for a video titled around the topic: [YOUR TOPIC, e.g. "How to start a budget on a low income"].
Target length: 8–10 minutes (roughly 1,200–1,500 spoken words). Channel style: [FACeless voiceover / talking head / educational / storytelling]. Tone: [friendly / authoritative / casual].
Structure the script with:
1) A 15–30 second hook that states a surprising fact, asks a question, or promises a specific outcome — no slow intro.
2) A short intro where you introduce the value of the video and what the viewer will learn by the end.
3) 3–5 main points, each with a timestamp marker in [00:00] format, a clear sub-heading, and 2–3 supporting details or examples.
4) A mid-video engagement cue around the 40–50% mark asking viewers to like and subscribe, written naturally (not spammy).
5) An outro that recaps the key takeaway, includes a clear call to action (subscribe, comment, watch next video), and ends on an open loop or question.
After the script, provide:
- 5 high-click-through-rate title options (under 60 characters each, include the main keyword)
- 5 thumbnail ideas (text overlay + visual concept for each)
- A video description of 150+ words with the main keyword in the first line, plus 2–3 timestamps and relevant links
- 10–15 relevant tags, ordered by relevance
Write in a conversational, spoken-word style — short sentences, contractions, and natural pauses. Avoid jargon. No lorem ipsum.
## Preview — what this prompt creates You get back a single document that reads top-to-bottom like a finished video: a punchy opening line, timestamped sections you can drop straight into your description, a natural-sounding ask for likes and subscribers in the middle, and a closing recap with a call to action. Underneath the script the AI lists five competing titles you can A/B test, five thumbnail concepts with both the text overlay and the visual described, a keyword-optimized description with timestamps, and a ranked tag list. The whole package is structured so you can record in one session and publish the same day. ## Best AI tools for this - **ChatGPT (GPT-4o)** — best overall script structure and natural voice - **Claude (Sonnet / Opus)** — longer outputs, great for detailed 10-min scripts - **Gemini Advanced** — good at pulling recent facts into scripts - **Jasper / Copy.ai** — built-in YouTube templates and tone controls - **InVideo AI** — goes from script to edited video automatically ## Make it yours - **[YOUR TOPIC]** — be specific. "How to save $5,000 in 6 months on a $30k salary" beats "saving money tips." - **Channel style & tone** — set these to match your existing videos so the AI writes in your voice. - **Length** — adjust the word count target for Shorts (150–200 words) or long-form deep dives (2,000+). ## Pro tips - Generate the script, then ask the AI to "make this sound more like [a creator you admire]" to refine the voice. - Always add one original stat, story, or example the AI couldn't know — it's what makes your video unique. - Record the hook separately and re-read it; the first 30 seconds decide whether anyone watches the rest.
