SEO Long-Form Article Prompt 📈

Give the AI one target keyword — get back a complete, rank-ready 1,500+ word article with a search-intent-matched outline, a featured-snippet-optimized short answer, FAQ section with schema-ready Q&A, meta title and description, and internal link suggestions. This is the prompt format built to satisfy both readers and Google’s ranking signals.

The prompt

Write a comprehensive, SEO-optimized long-form article targeting the keyword: [TARGET KEYWORD, e.g. "high yield savings account rates"].
First, identify the search intent behind this keyword (informational / commercial / transactional / navigational) and explain in one sentence what the searcher wants.
Then produce the article with these requirements:
- Length: 1,500+ words.
- Include the primary keyword in the first 100 words, in one H2, and naturally 5–8 times total. Include 3–4 related long-tail variations.
- Structure: H1 title, then an H2 outline with 5–7 sections, each with 1–2 H3 subsections where it adds clarity.
- Open with a 2–3 sentence intro that states a clear thesis and what the reader will learn.
- Immediately after the intro, include a "Short answer" block of 40–60 words optimized for the featured snippet — directly answer the keyword question, in a numbered list or concise paragraph.
- Each body section should answer a specific sub-question, include concrete examples, and where relevant, a comparison or step-by-step list.
- End with an FAQ section of 4–6 questions (use the "People Also Ask" style), each with a 40–80 word answer, formatted so it can be wrapped in FAQPage JSON-LD schema.
After the article, provide:
- A meta title (under 60 characters, includes keyword, click-worthy)
- A meta description (150–160 characters, includes keyword and a benefit)
- 5–8 internal link suggestions: anchor text + the type of page it should point to (e.g. "best savings accounts" → comparison page)
- 3–5 external authority sources worth citing or linking to
Tone: [e.g. helpful, authoritative, beginner-friendly]. Audience: [e.g. personal finance beginners]. No fluff, no repetition, no lorem ipsum.
## Preview — what this prompt creates The output opens with a one-line intent analysis so you can confirm the article matches what searchers actually want. Then comes the full article: a thesis-led intro, a short "featured snippet" answer block placed high on the page (the 40–60 word format Google loves to pull), five to seven H2 sections with H3 subsections that map to related questions, and a People-Also-Ask-style FAQ at the bottom. Below the article you get a click-optimized meta title and description, a list of internal link targets with exact anchor text, and external authority sources to cite. It is a complete on-page SEO package in one generation. ## Best AI tools for this - **ChatGPT (GPT-4o)** — strong structure and natural flow - **Claude (Opus)** — best for long, detailed, well-researched drafts - **Surfer SEO + AI** — writes directly against a content editor's keyword scoring - **Jasper** — built-in SEO mode with tone and brand voice - **Frase** — combines AI writing with SERP-based outlines ## Make it yours - **[TARGET KEYWORD]** — use a real keyword with search volume (Ahrefs, Semrush, or Google Keyword Planner). - **Tone & audience** — set these precisely; "beginner-friendly for 20-somethings" produces a very different article than "advanced for CFOs." - **Length** — bump to 2,500+ words for high-competition keywords and add original data tables. ## Pro tips - After generation, run the draft through Surfer or PageOptimizer Pro and fill any keyword gaps the AI missed. - Add at least one original element — a survey, a screenshot, a calculation, or a personal story — to build E-E-A-T. - Interlink aggressively: the internal link suggestions are where most of your ranking lift comes from after publish.
