# 25-Point Website Launch Checklist (SEO Edition) — free download from DollarWise (dollarwise.xyz)

The checks are ordered the way a launch actually happens: content first (titles, descriptions, headings), then technical (sitemap, robots, speed, mobile), then measurement (analytics, Search Console, indexing). Tick them in order and you avoid the classic launch-week scramble of discovering, too late, that the staging site was indexed instead of the real one.

CONTENT (1-8)
Every page has a unique, descriptive title under 60 characters.
Every page has a meta description under 160 characters that invites a click.
One H1 per page, matching the page's main topic.
Headings form a logical outline (H2s, then H3s) with no skipped levels.
Images have descriptive alt text and compressed file sizes.
Internal links connect related pages with descriptive anchor text.
No placeholder or lorem ipsum text remains anywhere on the site.
Contact, about, and privacy pages exist and are reachable from every page.
TECHNICAL (9-17)
A sitemap.xml exists and is submitted to Search Console.
Robots.txt allows the pages you want indexed and blocks the rest.
The staging or development site is blocked from search engines.
HTTPS works on every page with no mixed-content warnings.
Pages load in under three seconds on a mobile connection.
The site is fully usable on a phone, with readable text and tappable buttons.
Canonical tags point to the preferred version of each page.
404 pages are helpful and link back to useful content.
Structured data validates without errors for eligible page types.
MEASUREMENT AND AFTER LAUNCH (18-25)
Analytics is installed and recording real visits.
Search Console is verified and the sitemap is submitted.
Key pages are requested for indexing after launch.
A backup exists and restoring it has been tested once.
Forms, checkout, and contact methods have been tested end to end.
Broken links have been checked across the whole site.
Social sharing previews (Open Graph) look right for key pages.
Search Console is checked daily for the first week for crawl errors.
